Tetra Tech Loses Challenge to $6.3 Million Superfund Settlement

A $6.3 million class settlement with homeowners who sued over the allegedly inadequate cleanup of the former Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco received final approval from a federal judge in California over Tetra Tech Inc.'s objections.

Plaintiffs led by Greg and Linda Pennington say Tetra Tech failed to remediate the soil at the Superfund site and falsified soil samples to cover up its failure. Their lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California also alleged Lennar Corp. and other defendants failed to investigate Tetra Tech and notify the homeowners about the contamination.
