A federal judge certified two classes of customers accusing Tesla Inc. of fraud over allegedly misleading statements the company made about its electric vehicles’ self-driving capabilities.
Thousands of people each month likely read on Tesla’s website, newsletters, and blog posts that its vehicles are equipped with the hardware necessary for “full self-driving capability,” said Judge Rita F. Lin of the US District Court for the Northern District of California on Monday.
