Tesla Heads for Jury Trial Over Racial Discrimination Claims

Telsa Inc. will face a summer jury trial over claims brought by a California civil rights agency alleging Black workers faced racial harassment and discrimination, especially at its Bay Area factory.

A California state court judge denied the electric car-maker’s final bid to toss out the lawsuit on Tuesday, finding the state Civil Rights Department had compiled enough evidence of discrimination, pay inequities, and a hostile work environment to justify a trial.

The case is set for trial on July 20 in Alameda County Superior Court in Oakland, California.
