A Tesla Inc. Autopilot system, engaged while the driver looked at his phone, failed to detect an SUV parked in the car’s path at an intersection in 2019 in the Florida keys and caused the death of a 22-year-old, a lawsuit now in federal court says.

The late woman’s estate seeks a lifetime of lost wages as well as damages for her parents’ emotional pain and suffering and their loss of her companionship and support.
