Tesla Accused of Failing to Fix Defective Home Battery Systems

Tesla Inc. allegedly sold defective Powerwall 2 Battery System units that help provide power to homes, and then conducted an inadequate safety recall, a federal court complaint says.

Arthur Brown says Tesla’s recall confirms that the units are defective, and that the company’s process of inspecting and replacing units didn’t fully address the problems, he told the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida in a proposed class action complaint seeking damages, among other relief.

Tesla hasn’t offered consumers full refunds, nor has it offered to reimburse consumers for the loss of use of the units, Brown says. ...
