Tennessee officials can’t enforce a ban on specific medical treatments intended to provide gender-affirming care for minors, at least until a federal court determines if the state law passes muster under the US Constitution.
The US government, three transgender minors, their parents, and a doctor convinced the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee to pause most of the state’s measure on Wednesday. The provision, known as SB 1, was due to take effect July 1.
