TED Foundation Inc. shared the video-viewing histories of visitors to its website with third parties in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act, a proposed federal class action said.
Kimberly Sutton, Zainab Salman, David Ramirez, and Tyler Baker alleged that TED Foundation, a provider of video lectures on a website and through a mobile app, integrates technology of at least two companies on the app that collects user data, and uses another company’s technology on the website to analyze the data.
