A male Catholic school teacher in Kansas City, Kansas, has sued his employers and the archdiocese, alleging he was subjected to gender discrimination, suspended twice amid misconduct reports that proved to be unfounded and ultimately let go after those claims triggered his anxiety and depression, in violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act.
Michael Pateidl, who taught English and Reading at the Saint Ann Catholic Church School, and Ascension Catholic School, filed his suit against those institutions and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas on Sept. 20.
