Teacher Educators’ Canceled DEI Grants Temporarily Restored (1)

The Trump administration was temporarily blocked from terminating grants associated with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to three teacher education associations that challenged the move.

The associations are likely to demonstrate that the grant terminations were arbitrary and capricious in violation of the Administrative Procedure Act, Judge Julie R. Rubin of the US District Court for the District of Maryland said Monday.

The limited preliminary injunction requires the Education Department to reinstate grants to the associations’ members under the the Teacher Quality Partnership Program, the Supporting Effective Educator Development Program, and the Teacher and School Leader Incentive Program.
