X Corp. is no longer facing a breach of third party beneficiary contract claim from a group of women who said the social media platform made a recent data breach of Tea Dating Advice worse.
Counsel for the plaintiffs filed a notice of voluntary dismissal on Dec. 19, clarifying that the case against Tea Dating Advice continues, while the individual claims against X will not.
The news that Tea Dating Advice—which marketed itself as a safe place to share red flags users noticed in potential partners—failed to secure verification data, including 72,000 images, spread across X’s website.
