TD Bank Beats Privacy Lawsuit Over Use of Meta Pixel on Website

TD Bank NA defeated for now a proposed class action alleging it disclosed users’ personal information to Meta Platforms Inc. without their consent in violation of state and federal privacy laws.

Lead plaintiff Jeffrey Stevens failed to allege that TD Bank disclosed information to Meta that was specific to him, a threshold requirement for stating his claims, Judge Renée M. Bumb of the US District Court for the District of New Jersey said June 27.

Bumb granted TD Bank’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit but gave the plaintiff leave to file an amended complaint.
