TaskUs Should Get OK for $18 Million Investor Accord, Judge Says

Outsourcing firm TaskUs Inc.'s nearly $18 million class settlement with investors over employee retention metrics warrants final court approval, a magistrate judge said in a recommendation.

At more than 16% of the $108 million in estimated maximum recoverable damages, the relief is adequate even if not “nearly double” the median rate in securities class actions as the lead plaintiffs argued, Magistrate Judge Gary Stein said Thursday. Stein’s recommendation will go to Judge John P. Cronan of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York for ratification.
