Target, Perrigo Beat Biotin Supplement False Advertising Claims

Target Corp. and product makers International Vitamin Corp. and Perrigo Co. of South Carolina Inc. may permissibly say a biotin supplement “helps support healthy hair and skin,” the Ninth Circuit said Wednesday.

Federal law preempts consumer protection claims challenging the label, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said. It affirmed dismissal of the would-be class suit.
