Target, New York Times Sued in NYPD Unpaid Wages Class Action

Target Corporation, New York Times Company, and the New York City Police Department were hit with a class action Wednesday alleging they fail to pay security officers for off-duty work.

The lawsuit seeks to establish a class of as many as 6,000 NYPD police officers who participated in a paid detail program that enlists them to provide part-time services at private businesses for hourly pay.

Sergeant Mohamed Monasar and Captain Gabrielle Walls claim the companies routinely deny or delay officers’ “minimum wages and all earned wages at their regular rates of pay,” according to their lawsuit filed in New York ...
