Talkdesk Inc. defeated a proposed class action after a federal judge said the consumers lacked standing to proceed with a suit that said talks with customer service centers were secretly recorded.
Intercepting phone numbers—and questions about store hours, events, and products—from one call “is simply not private or personal enough to confer standing,” Judge Vince Chhabria, of the US District Court for the Northern District of California, said Wednesday.
