T-Mobile Wins Ruling Sending a Racial Bias Case to Arbitration

T-Mobile USA Inc. won’t need to face in open court a former employee’s lawsuit claiming she subjected to racial discrimination while working there and later fired in retaliation for filing suit over the discrimination.

The case must be arbitrated because the employee agreed to do so by signing an arbitration agreement when she accepted stock grants in the company, the US District Court for the Western District of Washington ruled. Almost all T-Mobile employees are awarded stock grants, but to do so they must agree to certain terms, including a Mutual Agreement to Arbitrate, according to the opinion issued Tuesday. ...
