Swift Pork, Mechanic End Suit Over Medical Leave for Sick Wife

Swift Pork Co. and a former company mechanic have agreed to end a lawsuit after he claimed that the company violated the Family and Medical Leave Act by firing him for leaving his shift early to care for his ailing wife.

The company, a subsidiary of JBS USA Food Co., and the mechanic, Raymond Black, have agreed to dismiss the case with prejudice, according to a joint stipulation filed Friday with the US District Court for the Southern District of Iowa.
