Sutter Health Gets Final Approval of $229 Million Antitrust Deal

Northern California health-care provider Sutter Health got final approval of a $228.5 million deal to settle claims that it forced insurers into contracts with anticompetitive terms.

Magistrate Judge Laurel Beeler of the US District Court for the Northern District of California on Thursday signed off on the deal, under which Sutter will compensate about 3 million class members with $228.5 million in exchange for a release of all claims against the company.

The court also approved $75.4 million in attorneys’ fees and $28.2 million in costs.
