Corona Clay Co. was handed a loss Monday after the U.S. Supreme Court declined to consider whether environmental groups can sue the company despite a jury’s finding that the groups failed to show pollution reached protected waters.
Inland Empire Waterkeeper and Orange County Coastkeeper said in their lawsuit that Corona Clay released contaminated water from its California facility in violation of the Clean Water Act. The groups also alleged a failure to update a stormwater pollution prevention plan and a failure to file annual reports as required.
