Suit Over Clinton Campaign Contribution Disclosures Can Proceed

Non-profit watchdog Campaign Legal Center can mount a federal lawsuit claiming Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and a political action committee wrongly failed to report contributions in the form of opposition research and press outreach, the D.C. Circuit ruled Tuesday.

Campaign Legal Center has the right under the Federal Election Campaign Act to learn the amounts, dates, recipients, and purposes of coordinated expenditures from a political committee to a candidate’s authorized committee, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C.
