TIC International Corp. must face a lawsuit alleging it was negligent in connection with a data breach that exposed the personal information of more than 187,000 people people.
Rodney Krupa alleged that the data breach led to the exposure of his Social Security number. That exposure constituted a sufficient harm to provide the basis for his claims, Judge James R. Sweeney II of the US District Court for the Southern District of Indiana said in a Tuesday ruling, denying TIC’s motion to dismiss.
