Success Academy Settles FMLA Lawsuit Over Foot Surgery Request

Success Academy Charter Schools Inc. settled a case from a former accounts payable coordinator after allegedly dismissing her because she sought bilateral foot surgery.

Judge Edgardo Ramos had said that Tameka Simmons’ discrimination lawsuit could go to trial in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, with a jury to decide whether she was terminated because of her leave request or because of a corporate restructuring.
