Student Loan Borrower Class Certified in Tardy Paperwork Lawsuit

Student loan borrowers who say servicer Conduent Education Services LLC interfered with their ability to consolidate or otherwise manage their loans by not returning paperwork on time may proceed as a class, a federal judge in New York ruled Wednesday.

Jeffrey Chery says Conduent and other associated entities impeded his right to pre-pay or consolidate his student loans in accordance with guarantees under federal law. Chery also says he and others had their applications for loan forgiveness denied because Conduent, formerly called ACS, failed complete required loan verification certificates and return then within 10 days.
