Strip clubs fighting a Texas law that bars anyone under 21 from working in a sexually-oriented business argued in federal court Monday that the state’s claims the law is necessary to combat human trafficking are overblown.
The lawsuit in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas tests how far conservative states can go to ban people ages 18 to 20 years old from working not only in strip clubs but adult book stores, adult movie theaters, and other sexually-oriented businesses. The Texas law’s banned jobs cover everything from dancers to janitors to parking attendants.
