The Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. LLC deceptively advertised a family-size bag of navel oranges for less on its website than it sold for at the same time in stores, a consumer alleged in a proposed class action.
The in-store prices were “approximately $3.00 higher than the prices advertised on the website,” the complaint filed Aug. 9 in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts said. The websites prices were “clearly communicated as prices for in-store purchases as well as online purchases.”
Stop & Shop didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
