Steph Curry Shielded From Deposition in Under Armour Patent Suit

A federal judge in California said she’ll block a golf shoe-maker from forcing Golden State Warriors’ star Stephen Curry to sit for a deposition as part of a patent lawsuit against Under Armour Inc.

Athalonz LLC sued Maryland-based Under Armour for infringement of five shoe patents in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas in April 2023. It subsequently filed subpoenas seeking to depose Curry, pro golfer Jordan Spieth, and all-star baseball player Bryce Harper to answer questions about allegedly infringing shoes bearing their names.
