Stellantis Hit With Plug-In Hybrid Jeep Battery Fire Class Suit

FCA LLC, which now does business as Stellantis, sold plug-in hybrid Jeep Wranglers and Jeep Grand Cherokees that had a significant risk of catching fire due to a battery defect, a proposed class action alleged.

Stellantis recalled many of the vehicles last year and told consumers that the cars’ high voltage battery may fail and lead to a car fire while the vehicle is parked or being driven, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
