Starbucks Workers Ask Approval of Nearly $2.9 Million Settlement

California Starbucks Corp. employees asked a federal trial court to preliminarily approve a $2.875 million settlement of wage and hour claims on behalf of 175,000 workers in the state.

The employees also asked Judge James Donato to conditionally certify the proposed settlement class, in a motion for preliminary approval filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.

The settlement would resolve the claims brought by California store managers and employees brought in two separate lawsuits.
