A $278,500 settlement between Stanford University and nearly 50 campus safety officers received final approval from a federal judge in California, resolving Fair Labor Standards Act and state-law claims over unpaid wages.
Judge Jeffrey S. White partially denied class counsel’s request for $10,000 in litigation costs, instead awarding about $8,230.
Class counsel could only account for about $6,925 in expenses, plus the $1,303 it plans to pay to the settlement administrator, the court said. The remaining $1,770 will go to the class and collective members, it said.
