A male student at St. John’s University in New York City failed to convince the Second Circuit that the school exhibited an anti-male bias during its investigations of two sexual assault charges against him.
Richard Roe sued St. John’s in the US District Court for the Easter District of New York, alleging sex-based discrimination in violation of Title IX of the 1972 Education Amendments and violations under state contract law; he also sued Jane Doe, one of the alleged victims, for defamation based on allegedly sending an anonymous tweet accusing him of sexual assault.
