A consumer won class status in her suit alleging Sports Research Corp. falsely marketed its Garcinia Cambogia supplement as a weight management and appetite control aid, according to a California federal court order.
Cynthia Ford alleges that Sports Research touted the product as effective even though its only purportedly active ingredients—hydroxycitric acid and extra virgin organic coconut oil—are scientifically proven to be incapable of providing the touted benefits.
Ford, who said she used the product for two months and didn’t get the advertised results, said the Garcinia Cambogia is worthless.
