Spirit AeroSystems Wants Fees for Ending Texas Probing Tool

December 26, 2024, 5:36 PM UTC

Spirit AeroSystems Inc. aims to recover over $580,000 in legal fees after taking on Texas in federal court and striking down a 100-plus year tool the state’s attorney general uses to investigate businesses and organizations.

The request represents a conservative amount for the time put in by Spirit’s seven lawyers from WilmerHale and McCarty Law PLLC, according to a Monday filing in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.

The lawyers’ hourly rates for work performed in the case range from $700 to $1,800, the filing says.
