Specialty Reese’s Products Lack Advertised Decoration, Suit Says

Hershey Co. deceptively depicted certain specialty Reese’s peanut butter cups in pumpkin, ghost, football, and other shapes on their packaging as having carved out artistic decoration that turned out not exist, consumers say in a proposed class action filed Friday.

Three consumers say they bought pumpkin-, bat-, ghost-, and football-shaped Reese’s because their wrappers depicted the chocolate had been carved out to depict eyes, noses, and stitching. After unwrapping the candies, they discovered the candies were “blanks” and had no decoration, their complaint filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida says.
