Spam Call Suit Against The Pisa Group Certified as Class Action

Consumers who sued nationwide call center The Pisa Group Inc. over alleged violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act were granted class certification.

The Pisa Group’s argument that the proposed class wasn’t big enough to merit certification fell short, Judge Gerald Austin McHugh of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said Feb. 24.

Janine Williams alleged the call center violated the TCPA by calling her and other consumers at their residential phones, despite their phone numbers being registered on the do-not-call list and despite their not having an established business relationship with it.
