Soccer Coach Dames Loses Second Bid for Damages Over Abuse Claim

Women’s professional soccer coach Rory Dames lost his suit for money damages flowing from his suspension for alleged sexual misconduct, when a judge ruled he failed to state a claim for relief.

Judge Edmond E. Chang of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois dismissed Dames’s amended complaint with prejudice on Monday. This came after the judge rejected Dames’s initial complaint lodged against the US Center for SafeSport on May 7, ruling that his claims were preempted and that he hadn’t yet exhausted his arbitrative remedies.
