International law firm Smith, Gambrell & Russell International LLP is facing two proposed class actions alleging its negligence led to a July 2021 data breach that exposed the information of more than 78,000 people.
Felica Livingston and Charles Owens allege in separate lawsuits that the firm failed to have adequate security procedures in place to protect their personal information, allowed unmonitored and unrestricted access to sensitive information, failed to adequately train employees in data security, lacked measures to detect security breaches, and failed to encrypt sensitive information.
