Smattering of Paragard IUD Defect Suits Trimmed as Time-Barred

The makers of the Paragard IUD device convinced a federal judge to dismiss dozens of individual suits in consolidated multidistrict litigation alleging the companies failed to warn people of the device’s risks.

Judge Leigh Martin May of the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia trimmed claims in a handful of suits from plaintiffs in Idaho, Mississippi, New York, Alabama, Michigan, Virginia, and Texas as time-barred under those states’ statutes of limitations.
