Skidmore College’s settlement with approximately 12,000 students and employees who were victims of a 2023 data breach received final approval from a federal judge.
Skidmore agreed to adopt better data security standards and to reimburse those affected for their losses. Class members are eligible for two years of credit monitoring, according to documents filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of New York. The deal places a $3,500 cap on out-of-pocket expense repayment.
