Sika, Other Concrete Firms Get Federal Price-Fixing Suits Tossed

Sika AG, Cie. de Saint-Gobain SA, and other firms convinced a judge in New York Wednesday to toss claims accusing them of conspiring to fix the price of concrete components.

The US District Court for the Southern District of New York called allegations that the Justice Department and regulators in the UK and Europe in 2023 launched antitrust investigations into the concrete and cement additives industry—including “dawn raids” of several construction chemicals firms—among the “most superficially appealing allegations.”

However, their existence isn’t enough to plausibly suggest a conspiracy, Judge Lewis J. Liman wrote.
