Siemens Defeats Scientist’s Religious, Gender-Based Bias Claims

Siemens Corp. has defeated religious and gender bias and harassment claims from a scientist who claimed he was discriminated against and ultimately fired because of his Muslim faith and Persian ethnicity.

Siemens’ motion to dismiss succeeded because the claims of the plaintiff, failed to plead facts in support of a discrimination claim based on sex, gender, color, and religion, and are insufficient to establish severe or pervasive harassment on the basis of any of plaintiff’s protected characteristics, said Judge Susan Illston of the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
