Shell Oil Units Voluntarily Dropped From Climate Adaptation Suit

Shell Oil Co. and Shell Petroleum Inc. reached an agreement with Conservation Law Foundation Inc. to be dropped as defendants in the nonprofit’s lawsuit alleging that several oil companies failed to prepare their facilities on the East Coast for sea level rise and other effects of climate change.

The foundation told a federal judge Tuesday that it agreed to withdraw its subpoena to Shell Pipeline Co. and not proceed with any motion to amend its complaint in this case to add that company as a party. In exchange, the defendants will allow all discovery produced in this case to be ...
