Seventh Circuit Blocks Halt on Indiana Student Voter ID Law

Indiana convinced a federal appeals court to stay a preliminary injunction that would stop state officials from enforcing a law preventing use of student ID cards as photo identification for voting.

The US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit Monday granted Indiana’s emergency motion for immediate stay of the injunction pending the state’s appeal. Chief Judge Michael B. Brennan, Judge Michael Y. Scudder, and Judge Joshua P. Kolar joined in the order.
