Sedgwick Claims Management Settles Wage Suit for $1.6 Million

Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc. has finalized a $1.6 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging that it misclassified employees as exempt from entitlement to overtime compensation.

The US District Court for the Western District of Tennessee granted final approval of the settlement, along with class counsel’s request for $400,000 in attorneys’ fees and costs, on Thursday.

Judge Samuel H. Mays Jr. approved two separate settlement classes, one for Illinois and one for Ohio. Both classes comprise people who held a position called Disability Representative Senior.
