Security Camera Maker Stuck With Illinois Biometric Privacy Suit

Anker Innovations failed to convince a court to dismiss an Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act suit after a federal judge said the plaintiffs sufficiently alleged their data was collected in the state.

The security camera and doorbells maker argued that the case should’ve been dismissed on jurisdictional grounds because the alleged BIPA violation didn’t primarily happen in Illinois.
