Second Circuit Affirms Immigration Lawyer’s Fraud Conviction

A New York immigration lawyer failed to overturn her 2022 federal district court conviction of conspiracy to commit immigration fraud.

The Second Circuit on Monday rejected claims from Julia Greenberg and her conspirator, immigration services worker Uladzimir Danskoi, that the district court erred in part by giving the jury a conscious avoidance charge. Instead, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit affirmed the December 2022 jury verdict from the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
