Scout Energy Customers Advance Class Suit Over 2024 Data Breach

Texas-based Scout Energy Management LLC must face a proposed class action alleging it negligently failed to protect the personal information of more than 51,000 people that was exposed in a 2024 data breach.

The four plaintiffs alleged concrete injuries that were sufficient to establish their standing to sue in federal court, and adequately pleaded claims of negligence and breach of implied contract, Judge David C. Godbey of the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas said.
