The Church of Scientology and the actor Danny Masterson must face court proceedings over the organization’s allegedly illegal attempts to silence three women who made rape allegations, a California appeals court said, overruling a judge’s decision to enforce an arbitration agreement.
The state’s Second District Court of Appeal revived the case late Wednesday, issuing a writ of mandate in favor of the actor-model Chrissie Carnell Bixler, her husband, and two other women who have also accused Masterson of rape and Scientology of an aggressive intimidation campaign.
