The owner-operators of 10 independently licensed Save-A-Lot grocery stores and their related company, Anchor Mobile Food Markets Inc., lost their bid to revive a civil fraud lawsuit against private equity firm
The owner-operators’ claims, brought under Missouri law and the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, are barred by valid contractual releases, the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit said.
The court didn’t buy the argument that the releases shouldn’t be enforced because they were fraudulently induced.
