Satanic Church Lawyers Were Properly Sanctioned, 8th Cir. Says

Lawyers representing The Satanic Temple Inc. in suits against Belle Plaine, Minn., over the exclusion of a Satanic monument were properly sanctioned for filing duplicative lawsuits, a federal appeals court said on Friday.

After the Temple filed a late motion to amend its complaint in the first suit, “their recourse was to appeal to the district court (and potentially to the court of appeals), not to start a new lawsuit,” the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit said.
