Saputo Cheese Settles Lawsuit Over Extreme Heat Accommodation

A complaint against a Saputo Inc. unit has been voluntarily dismissed with prejudice after a lack of accommodation for extreme heat lawsuit was significantly narrowed.

Peter Markgren’s claim that Saputo Cheese USA Inc. failed to apply reasonable accommodations given his heart condition prevented him from working in extreme heat survived summary judgment in the US District Court in the Western District of Wisconsin. But Saputo won summary judgment on his claim that the company discriminated against his age and sex, and retaliated against his age and health condition.
